You don't have to know what a "tenor" is and you certainly don't have to enjoy opera to love this show.

In fact, I'd say the production is more Keystone Cops than Carmen.

You can see the final two stagings of "Lend Me A Tenor" this weekend at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre (329 South Park Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007). Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $24. Click here to buy tickets.

Set in a Cleveland hotel room, the story centers on a famous opera singer coming to town for a special performance.  Some of the characters know what "one night only" with Tito Merelli  could do for their careers.  Add a jealous wife, a stomach malady and a misinterpreted suicide note and hilarity ensues!

Full disclosure: I work with Stefani Bishop who plays Diana in this show, but that's not why I gave it a good review.
