Several Kalamazoo buildings were open to the public during the Hidden Kalamazoo 2017 tour. Here we take a look through the Muleskinner Building.

The Hidden Kalamazoo tours started in 2013.

The tour benefits the Kalamazoo Historic Preservation Commission, founded in 1965, to fund projects that illuminate our heritage. Since 2013, the tour has raised over $40,000.

The Muleskinner building was also known as Ideal Plumbing & Heating and Mitchell's Barber Shop. From the Hidden Kalamazoo tour guide,

Originally located at 513 Portage, the building was moved about 1995 when South Pitcher was connected to Portage near East Lovell. The Interurban car attached to the building originally served as a maintenance car, a rolling workshop for the trains.

Here are some photos from inside.

There were seven buildings on the tour with a bonus "mystery" building that was removed at the last minute because of safety concerns.

You can check out the other buildings From the 2017 Hidden Kalamazoo tour here.
