Even though the two teams are squaring off during the 2017 football season, the Western Michigan Broncos and Michigan State Spartans will see each other again in two years.

Western Michigan announced today that the Broncos will make a return trip to East Lansing to square off with the Spartans in 2019. It will be the 17th meeting between the two squads in two years. Including this year, all the games in the series have taken place at Spartan Stadium except for 2015, when the two played at Waldo Stadium.

Western will receive $1 million to make the trip to the state capital. The announcement comes on the heels of Western's trip to the Big House in Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines next season.

Michigan State opens their season Saturday, September 2nd when they host Mid-American Conference for Bowling Green. Western Michigan travels west in their opener September 2nd, when they take on Southern California. Both games are tune-ups before their September 9th meeting. Kick-off time has not been announced.
