Keith Urban was next in line for the National Anthem at the Nashville Predators home playoff game. The Australian singer performed the "Star Spangled Banner" on Tuesday night (May 16).

Urban's version of the National Anthem was received with enthusiasm from fans hoping the home team's home win streak continues. The Preds haven't lost at home in the playoffs thus far. Currently they're tied one game apiece with the Anaheim Ducks. In addition to being the NHL team in Music City, the team is notable because superstar Carrie Underwood's husband Mike Fisher is captain.

Over the weekend she started a little bit of a Twitter war with Ducks' fans:

Underwood's duet partner on "The Fighter" finished his anthem in just 90 seconds, eventuating the phrasing more than previous singers. Vince Gill, Luke Bryan (see below), Little Big Town, Underwood and Lady Antebellum previously sang the anthem at the games. Dierks Bentley is another singer who supports the Predators. The team enjoys keeping who will sing a secret until just before the puck drops.

The regular season National Anthem singer Dennis K. Morgan was a bit miffed by being overshadowed during the playoffs. In an article in the Tennessean he expressed disappointment and frustration that he'd lost his regular job. Initially he thought Underwood singing was just a one-night deal. Now fans and spectators look forward to seeing which singer will perform every home playoff game.
