How many cheesy puns will be included in this review of Detroit's newest burger joint?

While Donnie and "Marky" Mark Wahlberg may be famous for their 80's music and subsequent transition to successful actors, it is brother Paul, the chef, who stars at Wahlburgers.

The Atmosphere

The new restaurant on the block is not the Italian job, it is in Detroit's Greektown neighborhood. Wahlburgers is famous for, you guessed it, burgers. Bring your whole entourage for delicious and mouth-watering food. The velvet rope at the entrance gives Wahlburgers an exclusive feel yet the atmosphere is casual- you'll pick up on the good vibrations right away. Movie poster size shots of the famous siblings hang throughout the restaurant, but the menu is what you may like most.

The Food

The burgers, sandwiches and sides we enjoyed were delicious with the sweet potato tots and mac & cheese among the highlights. They even have a kids menu for the smahlburgs. You may want to try a frappe before you become one of the departed.

The Drinks

Each level has a full bar stocked with adult beverages and can't miss cocktails like the Funky Monkey frappe with strawberry ice cream, vanilla vodka, creme de banana and creme de cocoa- surely a favorite on the planet of the apes.

The Service

Our waitress Desiree was terrific (I think Ted was in the next section) and the service was superb. Mark may be home in Bah-ston, but I think I caught a glimpse of Donnie washing dishes in the back.

The Experience

Your night in Greektown isn't complete without a trip across the street to the casino for some boogie nights after a trip to Wahlburgers. The entire experience will transform you.
