Sault Ste. Marie is not only one of the hardest names to pronounce but it is the oldest town in Michigan.

As far as also being in Canada, Wikipedia says,

The two cities are joined by the International Bridge, which connects Interstate 75 (I-75) in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Huron Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Shipping traffic in the Great Lakes system bypasses the rapids via the American Soo Locks, the world's busiest canal in terms of tonnage passing through it.

Also, people come from around the world to watch ships pass through the locks, almost as many as Panama.
