Country music legend Tim McGraw has announced he will be playing his first Nashville solo concert in six years.

The event will take place on Aug. 15 at Bridgestone Arena as part of his Shotgun Rider tour. Singers Billy Currington and Chase Bryant will open for McGraw. It's sure to be a special and heartfelt concert for the 47-year-old singer, who first started his music career in Nashville over 20 years ago.

McGraw performed a moving tribute to Glen Campbell at the Academy Awards on Feb. 22. McGraw sang a haunting, beautiful version of Campbell's final song, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You." Campbell's family was in the audience as McGraw covered his song.

“I’m a huge fan of Glen Campbell’s,” McGraw said before the show. “I think the legacy that he’s left across the musical landscape is just incredible. He’s transcended all genres with the kind of music that he’s made — playing guitar on so many records in the ‘60s from the Beach Boys and some of the great songs that he’s had like ‘Wichita Lineman’ and ‘Rhinestone Cowboy.’ He’s just a true artist.”

In addition to traveling across the United States for his Shotgun Rider tour, McGraw is headlining the Taste of Country Music Festival this summer, which takes place June 12-14 in Hunter, N.Y. He'll also headline the 2015 Country Jam in Colorado, which runs from June 18-21.

Tickets for the Nashville Shotgun Rider concert are not yet available, but fans can visit McGraw's website for more information about his upcoming tour, as well as a list of complete tour dates.
