A Madison Heights fisherman reeled in a bigmouth buffalo that broke DNR records for the state...previously held by him.

Roy Beasley knows how to get the big ones. In August of 2008, he set the state of Michigan record for bigmouth buffalo then shattered his own record on May 13, 2017.

And he didn't even use a pole!

Beasley was bowfishing on Raisin River in Monroe County, Michigan when he shot a fish that weighed in at 27 pounds and measured 35.25 inches.

Things that weigh less than 27 pounds:

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has certified the catch as a record for bigmouth buffalo in the state.
