Jamie Lynn Spears took some time away from working on her music career recently after her daughter was seriously injured in an ATV accident, but the actor and singer-songwriter tells fans she is now ready to re-focus on her music.

Spears celebrated her 26th birthday on April 4, and in a long post to social media, she says that after her 8-year-old daughter, Maddie, suffered her injuries in February, she put aside all thoughts of her career.

She admits that she's often seen her passion for work and music as a way to make her family proud.

"I have been working on my music for almost a decade now, and I have had many great successes as an artist/writer, but I was always wondering, how long I would have to WAIT for my big break? Wow, did God put me in my place ..." Spears writes on Instagram, accompanied by a Bible verse.

Maddie was hospitalized in a coma after the ATV she was driving crashed into a pond and trapped her underwater on Feb. 5. On Feb. 7 she woke from her coma, and doctors gave her family the news that she had suffered no neurological damage.

"Time doesn't matter, and seems to blur together when you're waiting for your daughter to wake up, and a day could be a week, and you wouldn't notice, because you're fighting for what you love," Spears says.

"Now, more than ever, I realize how important it is to only put your time into things that matter, and I can't wait to get back to my music. Now, that my baby girl is better — I can't wait to make her proud. She is my everything."

Spears launched her country music career in 2013 with the release of her debut single, "How Could I Want More," followed by an EP in 2014. She also scored a hit as a songwriter when she co-wrote Jana Kramer's "I Got the Boy" in 2015 and released a new single, "Sleepover," in 2016. She concludes her post by thanking fans for their patience, saying, "Music to come."
