Homegrown, ‘Georgia’ [Exclusive Premiere]
The Georgia-based four-piece Homegrown are premiering their new song “Georgia” exclusively for readers of The Boot.
Obviously named after the group's state of origin, “Georgia” is a loving and nostalgic ode to Homegrown's roots. Homegrown band members Craig Brannon, Kevin Brannon and Jason Cole co-wrote the song with Danny Simpson.
"Even though "Georgia" is written from an artist’s perspective, I feel like it's a concept anyone can relate to who's been away from wherever they call home too long,” vocalist Craig Brannon tells The Boot. “Not to sound too cliche, but there's no place like home."
Comprised of the Brannon brothers, drummer Cole and vocalist Megan Blair, Homegrown will release their Georgia EP on Friday (April 7). The six-song collection is the followup to Homegrown’s independently released full-length debut album, Summer Song, which they dropped in 2015, and chronicles a period of growth for the band.
"We couldn't be more excited for our fans to finally hear what we've been working so hard towards -- not only maturing as writers and artists, but collaborating with some of Nashville's top songwriters,” says Kevin Brannon. “I believe we've created our best work to date!"
The Georgia EP is available for pre-order on iTunes.
