I am WAY above average!

Science is still trying to determine exactly how much coffee is or is not good for you, but the results are in as to how much java the ordinary Joe (or Joan) drinks.

According to the most recent Zagat survey 82% of coffee drinkers have at least one cup per day and the average is 2.1 cups.

Two-point-one cups? I have 2 cups before I crack the microphone at 6AM. As the guy who gets up before 4AM to be on the radio every day, I am way over 2.1 cups. I bring in a thermos and have been known to hit the Keurig when it is empty.

Other findings from the survey indicate that 24% of us prefer regular coffee, and 17% prefer lattes. Almost 30% of us drink our coffee black, 23% add half-and-half, and 16% use whole milk. Nearly half (43%) of us make our coffee at home or at work to save money and the average cup costs $3.28.
