My hometown of Holland has been recognized by USA Today as host of the best flower festival in the country.

A staple since 1929, Tulip Time brings 200,000 visitors to the Lake Michigan town of Holland to celebrate the Dutch heritage of the region.

There is klompen dancing, street scrubbing, concerts, fireworks, parades and miles and miles of tulips spanning every color of the spectrum.

Held annually beginning the first Saturday in May, Tulip Time 2016 runs May 7-14. You can download the festival guide if you are considering a visit.
