Have You Seen This UFO Shaped House In Kalamazoo?

This is an odd find on the outer edge of Kalamazoo and has been there for quite some time. Who built it and why? 

When I first saw this house, I was pretty young and had forgotten all about it being there until I recently drove down 9th street North of M-43 and saw it again. I have searched but can't seem to find any information in this strange UFO looking house. If anyone knows anything about it, let us know in the comments.
