Five Favorite Venues To See A Show In West Michigan
Recent scientific studies have proven live music is good for you. We are blessed to continue to have great live music here in West Michigan. I'll admit I haven't been to all of them, but of the ones I have been to here are my five favorite live venues in West Michigan.
When I first came to Kalamazoo in 2004, this was the first venue I had the chance to experience. From Bluesfest to Ribfest and the various other events held there over the years, I have always enjoyed seeing live music here.
I have only had the chance to see one live music event here and it was for Judas Priest about ten or eleven years ago. I enjoyed that show and have heard plenty of stories over the years from all the classic live events that have come through there.
My first taste of the State Theater would be with the many blues shows that the Rocker would have through out the years. If I had to guess I think the first real show I sat through was Tommy Castro. A true gem that I am proud to say we have in Kalamazoo.
The newest of the venues on my list. Normally I wouldn't put a casino on my list, but I have really enjoyed the few shows I have seen at The Event Center. It doesn't hurt that it is close to home as well.
Out of all the venues in West Michigan, my overall favorite is Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. Two of my all time favorite shows are ones I have seen at Van Andel Arena. Pearl Jam in 2006 and The Police Reunion in 2008. I can't remember ever seeing a bad show there.
Five great West Michigan venues that I enjoy. I'm sure there are some great ones I have yet to experienced. Let Me Know Your Favorites!
