If You Ate At Chili’s Recently Check Your Credit Account Now
Costumers who recently ate at the Chili's restaurant in Portage and Battle Creek may want to secure their credit and/or debit card info, as the chain who is owned by Brinker International announced over the weekend that some Chili’s restaurants experienced costumers who were victims of a credit and debit card data breach.
BC Inquirer reports that although the chain has yet to release an official list of which restaurants were affected exactly, anyone who dined in between March and April is encouraged to check their accounts. The breach was caused by malware that was used to collect payment card information, including credit and debit card numbers, as well as the names of cardholders who made purchases there as well.
Chili's sent a tweet out letting everyone know of the incident and reasured everyone that they have released all the info they know so far, and as they discover which restaurants and how many people were affected, they would be updating the website attacthed in the tweet:
