That quote from race director Don Kern and a commitment to run at least one event each month of 2013 got me to sign up for the inaugural Groundhog Marathon in Grand Rapids last year.

I set a personal record for my fastest half-marathon in the coldest conditions.

It was so much fun I'm headed for G.R. again Sunday morning to earn a 2014 medal.

Thankfully, we're supposed to warm up to the low 20's by then.
