Zac Brown Band Raising Money for Hurricane Relief at Houston Show
The support from the country music community for the victims of Hurricane Harvey continues to grow with a generous pledge from the Zac Brown Band.
The country mega-group have announced they are donating one dollar from every ticket sold to their show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston on Saturday (Sept. 16.) The proceeds will go toward the Justin J. Watt Foundation and Houston Flood Relief Fund for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
Additionally, first responders are eligible for free lawn tickets while supplies last. The event will also serve as a food drive for the Montgomery County Food Bank, and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food and household items to be donated to flood victims.
Miranda Lambert Rolls up Her Sleeves Up for Hurricane Relief
Zac Brown Band is just one of many country acts stepping up to help those impacted by the devastating storm. Luke Bryan is making a similar pledge with his show in Houston on Sept. 22, vowing to donate proceeds from the show to hurricane relief efforts and inviting first responders to attend the show. Miranda Lambert, a Texas native, has been working with her MuttNation Foundation to rescue more than 100 dogs who are now homeless following the hurricane.
Chris Young set up a GoFundMe page that has reached almost 80 percent of its $500K goal for the Red Cross. Josh Abbott Band, Granger Smith and RaeLynn are also contributing to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The Hand in Hand benefit concert on Tuesday (Sept. 12) brought in $44 million, with George Strait, Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and many more country stars all participating in the hour-long broadcast event.
