Watch For These Electric Harleys Rolling Into Battle Creek And Kalamazoo Dealerships

After years of anticipation, Harley Davidson is finally moving ahead with the production of it's all electric 'LiveWire' Motorcycle. These bikes could be seeing showrooms at Kalamazoo and Battle Creek Harley dealers in the next couple years.

Harley stock took a nosedive in recent months and, according to Bloomberg, the company is cutting jobs and closing one of its manufacturing facilities.

“You’ve heard us talk about Project LiveWire,” Matt Levatich, the president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, told listeners during the call on Tuesday. “It’s an active project we’re preparing to bring to market within 18 months.''

This will make Harley a front runner in getting a fully operational electric motorcycle on the market in the next few years.

Harley-Davidson Chief Financial Officer John Olin said the company will spend $25 million to $50 million per year over the next several years on electric motorcycle technology. The goal is to be the world leader in the electric motorcycle market.
