Should performers have to pay to play?

Earlier this week, Carrie Underwood was rumored to be on the shortlist of entertainers being considered for the Halftime show at Superbowl XLIX in Arizona.

Since no Country star has played the big game since Shania in 2003, it seems it's about time Country takes center stage.

Now, the story is that the NFL may ask performers to pay for the privilege of playing before such a huge audience.

No doubt the acts get a lot of exposure, but doesn't the NFL get ratings because people tune in to watch?
