The Tigers beat the second place Twins 6-3 on Friday night in the first of a three game series in Minneapolis. .

The Tigers chased Twins' starter Ervin Santana, as Victor Martinez hit two home runs by the fourth inning.  The Tigers built a 5-0 lead.  Santana had his shortest outing of the season for the Twins.

Anibal Sanchez gave up three runs and six hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 5 2/3 innings for the Tigers to get his second win against no losses on the season.   The bullpen did the job and Justin Wilson got his 11th save.

Miguel Cabrera had to leave the game after a batted ball hit him in the chest.  Cabrera had X-rays that were negative and has a right clavicle contusion.  He's listed as day-to-day.

Justin Wilson pitched the ninth for his 11th save in 13 chances.

Game 2 is tonight at Minnesota.  Jordan Zimmermann will start for Detroit.  Hear the game at 7:10pm on 95.3 WBCK.
