Bag of ‘Toiletries’ In Front Of Federal Center Brings In Bomb Squad Tuesday
A Battle Creek street was closed down, and a federal building was on alert, after a suspicious bag was found.
The City of Battle Creek says that someone called in reports of a suspicious package around 3:30pm Tuesday on the sidewalk on Champion St, right in front of the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center. The street was closed for an hour and a half while the Battle Creek Police Department Bomb Squad was called in to investigate; the bag was eventually opened, and was found to contain toiletry items of no danger.
The scene was cleared shortly afterwards.
