Following the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting, mourners gathered in Las Vegas, Nev., and Nashville, Tenn., on Monday evening (Oct. 2) to pray and reflect. Readers can see photos of the events in the gallery above.
In Las Vegas, residents and country music fans gathered on the Las Vegas Strip and at Las Vegas City Hall; in Nashville, they came to the Ascend Amphitheater. In Music City, Keith Urban, Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Alison Krauss and Charles Esten all took the stage to speak or perform.
In addition to the vigils, a number of major landmarks went dark or were lit up in special colors to honor the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting victims. In Las Vegas, buildings on the Las Vegas Strip dimmed their lights; in New York City, both the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center were darkened and displayed a single orange band; and in Paris, the Eiffel Tower went dark as well.
