Patterson Street Bridge in Kalamazoo to Close for a Month this Summer
The Patterson Street bridge across the Kalamazoo River will close for a month in July for repairs.
The city announced the closure which will affect Patterson between Riverview Drive and Pitcher Street.
The nearest crossings of the Kalamazoo River are south along Gull Street or north to Mosel Avenue, which is the official detour.
Not only will cars be detoured, but pedestrians as well. That detour appears to use a portion of the Kalamazoo River Valley trail.
Patterson Street bridge was closed briefly earlier this year when massive flooding affected the Kalamazoo River when many of the city's river crossings were closed.
