Lady Antebellum paid tribute to Gregg Allman after news broke of his death on Saturday (May 27), performing the Allman Brothers Band classic "Midnight Rider" in concert.

The band shared a portion of the performance to Instagram, along with the caption, "#greggallman tribute last night. you'll be missed. #YouLookGoodWorldTour." The scorching performance centers around Charles Kelley's uncanny bluesy growl, which is hauntingly reminiscent of Allman's gritty original vocal performance on the track.

"Midnight Rider" first appeared on the Allman Brothers Band’s 1970 album Idlewild South, but did not chart.  Covers of the song by Joe Cocker and Willie Nelson later charted, and Allman himself also scored with a later solo rendition. 11 Country Artists Who Died Too Soon

Allman’s official website broke the news of his death on Saturday, saying he "passed away peacefully at his home in Savannah, Ga."

"Gregg struggled with many health issues over the past several years. During that time, Gregg considered being on the road playing music with his brothers and solo band for his beloved fans, essential medicine for his soul," the statement reads. "Playing music lifted him up and kept him going during the toughest of times."

In 2007, Allman was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, and he later underwent a liver transplant in 2010, and lung surgery in 2012. The Southern music legend, who was a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band and a solo artist, canceled all of his tour dates for 2017 in March. He had also canceled shows in 2016 during a bout with pneumonia. Allman turned to social media in April to state that he was resting at home, and not in hospice care as rumors had claimed. CNN reports his cause of death was liver cancer. Allman was 69 years old.

Lady A have just launched the You Look Good Tour, which features Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young as support acts. The tour is set to play all over the U. S., as well as dates in Europe and even South Africa, where the trio will be performing for the first time. Lady Antebellum are also slated to perform at WE Fest 2017 in August. They will release a new album, Heart Break, in June.

Keith Urban, Wynonna Judd, Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt and more country artists paid tribute to Allman and shared their memories of him via social media.
