Kellogg’s Cutting 250 Jobs, Mostly At Battle Creek Headquarters
The Kellogg Company has announced that they’re cutting 250 jobs this year in America.
MLive reports that the announcement Wednesday also said that the majority of effected employees would be at their headquarters here in Battle Creek.
The layoffs are described as part of the cereal company’s “Project K” Initiative, which is a 4-year project that "is expected to generate between $425 and $475 million of annual cost-savings by 2018".
No specific date was given for the layoffs, or any word on exactly how many jobs are being cut in Battle Creek. Kellogg Co. is an international food giant, started in Calhoun County by W.K. Kellogg to sell cereal.
This announcement comes just a month after another Battle Creek based cereal company, Post, announced they were cutting several jobs at their area factory.
