Kalamazoo’s Halloween Crime Spree Suspect Charged in Jackson County

A 36-year-old Jackson County man was arraigned Monday and could face more charges following a Halloween break-in spree in Kalamazoo County.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports that Tracy Ott was charged with counts of assault with intent to rob while armed, carjacking, 1st-degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, larceny of a firearm and felony firearm in Jackson County.

The charges stem from a October 28th incident, where Ott was accused of forcing his way into a home in Jackson County, tying a woman up, stealing items and taking her SUV.

Ott was arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle in Allegan County, his third in the Halloween spree, after breaking into five Kalamazoo County homes.

Ott was released from jail in June after serving 12 years of a seven-to-15 year sentence on multiple home invasion charges from eight Michigan counties.
