Alert: Michigan Search For This Penny Worth Over $15,000
Money has become one of the most important things in the world since it's invention. Once upon a time, everyone went about the world either sharing their resources because sharing is caring or trading what they have in exchange for something someone else has. Now, we just trade our hard-earned money for whatever the product may be.
Although money may have value, not every note or every type of currency is valued the same way. For a while, the US dollar was one of the most sought after and highest valued currencies in the world. Since then, things have changed a little bit, and the US dollar has been losing some of its value around the world, but you could strike rich in Michigan.
Okay, enough of the global economics talk and more about money in America. We know that we have the different coins and bills that have their assigned value, but we also know that every so often special coins or mistakes are made by the US Mint, which increases the value on some US currency notes.
There have been quarters, dimes, pennies and nickels that have all been the subject of attention and have been found to have some discrepancies that make their value skyrocket. This time, we'll be looking for another penny that could put some significant cash into your hands.

What Are We Looking For Specifically?
- First, I need you to grab all your change and separate them by the different coins and only keep your pennies on the table. Now that we're staring at a pile of pennies, you're going to be looking for any pennies that were minted in 1982.
- Next, you'll be looking for the "Mint Marker" which will tell you which branch of the US Mint made the penny. You are looking for the "D" mint marker which will indicate that the penny was created in Denver, Colorado.
- Now that you have all your pennies that were made in Denver in 1982, I need you to grab a scale and weigh them all. The pennies in question all weigh between 2.98 and 3.10 grams because of material used to make the pennies.
- Now, that we've checked off the first 3, here is the last and most important one. The penny must be what they call a "Small Date Penny". This just means that the alphabet and numeric characters on the coin are smaller or thinner than on a normal penny.
If you're lucky enough to find a penny or multiple pennies that passes all the tests, contact a local coin business or collector or will be able to help you confirm or deny the claims. If they are confirmed, then all you have to do is find yourself a buyer and you'll be somewhere between $15,000 and $20,000 richer.
