There have been multiple attempts to start and maintain a spring football league that would give sports fans something to enjoy in the spring during the offseason. The hardest part has been the league being able to turn a profit after investing in players, renting stadiums, travel, media rights deals, and more. The NFL will always reign supreme, but many believe that a spring football league could work.

A couple of years ago the XFL and USFL were founded, two separate leagues that started around similar times, each of them had 8 teams. Those two leagues quickly began to run into some troubles that could cause them to fold. That's when a few interested parties introduced the idea to combine the leagues and create the XFL. After much deliberation, they were able to find a deal.

Michigan Panthers Searching For Their First UFL Championship

They would cut 4 teams from each league and create two conferences of 4 teams to create an 8-team league. They have the XFL and USFL conferences which are made up of the remaining teams from each league respectively. The Michigan Panthers were in the USFL and were lucky enough to make the cut, now they are looking to make history.

For the first time in program history, the Michigan Panthers have advanced to the championship game. They will look to raise the XFL championship trophy and become champions of the league for the first time. They will take on the XFL conference champions, the D.C Defenders in the UFL championship game.

The Michigan Panthers earned their spot in the championship game after defeating the Birmingham Stallions 44-29 in the USFL Championship game. The game will be played at The Dome at America's Center in St Louis on Saturday June 14th at 8pm. The game will be available to be streamed or viewable on TV on ABC.

It would be pretty sick for the Panthers to win their first UFL championship in their first trip to the championship game ever.
