These 5 Kalamazoo-ites captured some amazing shots of the zoo and posted them on Instagram. We want to know, have you visited these 5 hidden Kalamazoo gems?

The Lillian Anderson Arboretum is a beautiful 140 acre piece of property that is located off of West Main in Oshtemo Township. With a slew of different terrains to walk through and groomed trails to travel, you have to add this to your list of amazing places to explore in any weather. This shot was captured by Instagram user @Someseagulls like it was just another walk in the park when it looks more like a shot from a fairy tale!

Kalamazoo has no shortage of coffee shops, but can you name where this shot was taken before we tell you? Black Owl Coffee Shop off of Wallbridge is tucked away on a side street and has the vibe to let you kill some classwork or devour a book, whatever strikes your fancy. In fact, they just announced that they will now have extended hours so you can enjoy the atmosphere and espresso after 1pm during the week! Will you be going?

Moving on to Kalamazoo's OTHER favorite drink and pastime, Tibb's Brewing Company, located on the walking mall is a relatively new name for craft brews in the area. This nano-brewery is a stop on the beer passport trail that you can get from Discover Kalamzoo. As you can tell Instagram user @justjennie55 got her passport stamped! What is your favorite brew from them?

Our city has a big heart for a smaller city and it does well to create the culture to go with it. We love a good time and occasional party, but Kalamazoo also offer's its inhabitants great places to invest in a healthy lifestyle. Did you know we have our own FULLY ORANGIC salon downtown on Michigan Ave? Down to the cleaning products they use in the space, Suzanne's Organics believes that your hair and beauty products need to do more than make you look good, they need to make you feel good. Plus, they do a killer job and have an addictive downtown vibe that you'd expect to find somewhere like downtown Chicago! Check out this hair transformation photo from their Instagram.

To round out the awesome shots we found on Instagram of Kalamzoo's gems, we wanted to share this epic shot from user @rackyt of The Civic, Kalamazoo's Community Theatre. Right off of Bronson Park, The Civic has been a part of our downtown since 1929 and still offers great classes and opportunities for anyone of any age to get involved in theatre.  You can check out their upcoming shows here.
