Many people drive Lovers Lane in Kalamazoo every day but how many actually notice these three rocks painted to look like a frog? and how long have they actually been there?

If you drive down Lovers Lane, just South of Cork Street you will see some rocks painted to look like a frog. This got me curious so I stopped and asked the owners what they knew about the frog. I was told that they were not really sure who painted it or when but the story is that a elementary school art teacher had once lived there and he painted it.

A post in the Facebook group 'Vanished Kalamazoo' has one comment saying that she would sit on it and tie her shoes on her way to the Millwood Elementry School just down the road and that she is now in her 70's. Apparently this has been there for at least 60 years.

As you can see, this house will have new owners soon and maybe they would like to know the history of what I have been calling "Stoney the frog".

If you know anything about this piece of Kalamazoo Art, let us know in the comments.
