  • Where: Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors, 5830 Venture Park Dr., Kalamazoo
  • How Much: FREE, but pre-registration is required

Matt Paxton, star of A&E's "Hoarders" will be in Kalamazoo on Tuesday, June 7 for a class on "Handling a Hoarding Dilemma" in the morning and an afternoon session of FAQ's and Q&A (frequently asked questions and question and answer). Both sessions are free and open to the public but seating is limited.

Paxton helps bring awareness to the issues surrounding hoarding and helps people see beyond the mess. “Hoarding starts with a trigger; something bad happened somewhere in life. Communication is the most important part; it’s not about stuff,” he said in a previous event in Kalamazoo.

Often the mental challenges that arise during a cleanup are much bigger than the cleaning process itself, so Paxton will discuss current psychological explanations of hoarding.

If you can't make this event and would like more information, contact the Kalamazoo Hoarding Task Force for more information on this disorder.
