"Thanks for letting us come back to the great city of Detroit to play some music" Garth Brooks told the audience early in the show Friday night at Joe Louis Arena.
According to Brian McCollum of the Detroit Free Press, Garth's first Motor City performance in 18 years lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes, relying heavily on the hits and fan favorites like "The Beaches of Cheyenne," "Mama Loved Papa," and "Two of a Kind, Workin' On A Full House."
Wife Trisha Yearwood came out for a duet of "In Another's Eyes" before Garth gave her the stage for a 4-song set. Earlier in the day on Friday, the pair were awarded sweaters (jerseys) by the Detroit Red Wings organization, who call Joe Louis Arena home ice.
