The Detroit Tigers haven't been known recently for their defensive plays.  Though they must of done something right this season as four players were named finalist for Gold Gloves.

According to the Detroit News, Shortstop Jose Iglesias, Second Baseman Ian Kinsler, Catcher James McCann and Pitcher Justin Verlander are finalist for the awards this season.

The Gold Glove is given to the best defensive players at that their positions in each league for the season.

The last Tiger to win a Gold Glove was Yoenis Cespedes  last season, who won as a member of the Tigers and New York Mets. He was traded during mid season last year.

The Tigers may see some other post season award honors come their way as Rookie Michael Fulmer is a strong favorite for the Rookie of The Year and Justin Verlander should get some votes for The Cy Young Award.

Each Tigers player up for the award faces some tough competition so will see if they can win. The last time the Tigers had multiple players win Gold Gloves was in 2006.

The Gold Gloves will be handed out on November 9th.
