Employee Beaten With Hammer And Robbed

A liquor store employee was attacked with a hammer and robbed early Sunday morning in Battle Creek.

The employee had just locked-up the store, in the 1200 block of West Dickman Road around 2:35 AM, and was walking to his car when a black male in his 20’s, wearing all black with a mask over his face, approached and demanded that he be let into the store. The employee refused and the thief struck him in the head with a hammer and took the man’s wallet. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction and remains at large.

The victim was transported to the hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
