Elvis Wade may be the first ever Elvis impersonator. Wade spent the early 70's following Elvis Presley city-to-city putting on concerts to fans who couldn't get tickets to see The King.

Often called "the next best thing" to seeing Elvis Presley, Elvis Wade will be doing a show in West Michigan on Saturday, June 27 at 7 p.m.

How good is this guy? Elvis Presley saw his show and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Elvis' stepmother Dee Presley worked with Elvis Wade, and The Jordanaires, who sang backup for Elvis, toured with Wade for 12 1/2 years following the death of Mr. Presley.

The concert is at a private residence but the public is invited. Elvis Wade will cover the career of Elvis Presley from "Heartbreak Hotel" to "Burnin' Love," "Suspicious Minds" to "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" singing to backing tracks. His wife Sandy Posey, who sang backing vocals on one of Elvis' most highly acclaimed albums 'Elvis In Memphis,' will also be featured.

We had a lengthy conversation and he told me about the time Elvis came to one of his shows (Spoiler alert: he loved it!), The Jordanaires' memories of what Elvis was really like, and what The King would be doing if he were alive today--the answer to that one comes just after the 9:00 mark.

Of course Elvis Presley was known as the King of Rock & Roll, but at heart he was a country boy from Tupelo with that Southern charm that won over the world.
