Twenty or thirty years ago, say casino and you likely thought of only Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Now you are likely a short drive away from a gaming resort. Forbes Magazine recently named 10 great casinos in 'unexpected places.' One Michigan casino made their list.

Forbes noted the Motor City Casino in Detroit for

providing high-stakes entertainment. The 16-story property, which has nearly 3,000 slot machines and more than 50 table games, nods to Detroit’s vibrant history with music-related motifs and automobile paraphernalia.

Of course there are two other casinos in Detroit - Greektown and MGM and many, many other Native American run resorts including Firekeepers, Gun Lake and Four Winds in Southwest Michigan.

Would you consider Michigan an 'unexpected place' for enjoying a casino resort getaway?
