‘Country Rising’ Benefit Concert Now Raising Money for Route 91 Victims, Too
The upcoming Country Rising benefit concert has expanded its focus -- and its lineup. The upcoming show will focus on raising money for Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting victims, in addition to giving to those affected by recent hurricanes.
Via a press release, Country Rising organizers have announced that the money raised from the event will be donated to the Country Rising Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The fund was originally established to support initiatives that are helping those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean, but it will now also benefit Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting victims.
"In the course of rebuilding lives disrupted by these devastating events, there are immediate needs and there also will be long-term needs," the press release explains. "This fund will strategically support both as they emerge."
Remembering the Route 91 Harvest Festival Shooting Victims
The Country Rising benefit concert will feature performances from Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, George Strait and the newly added Keith Urban. Garth Brooks was originally scheduled to perform at the event, but due to a scheduling conflict with his Spokane, Wash., World Tour stop, he has bowed out of the event; however, Brooks will instead donate all of the proceeds from his two shows on Nov. 12 in Spokane to the Country Rising Fund.
