Bad weather on Lake Michigan is good fortune for those who would like to see the replicas of the Nina and Pinta docked in South Haven.

Those who had other plans for Labor Day weekend will get one last chance to see what it was like when Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. The replicas of the Nina and Pinta sailed Lake Michigan for their scheduled visit to the Michigan Maritime Museum August 31- September 4. Now, according to the Michigan Maritime Museum's Facebook page:

  • Tickets are $15 for adults with child and senior rates available.
  • Tickets are good for tours of both ships: the Nina and the Pinta.
  • Tours are self-guided but crew are available to answer questions and share stories and spin yarns about their many voyages.

More information is available from The Columbus Foundation and Michigan Maritime Museum.
