In 1970, the year of our first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy toward environmental issues. We are now entering the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action. You can take part in several events according to Mlive:
Naturalist-led hikes and live animal programs
Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Kalamzoo Nature Center.
Festivities begin with an Earth Day 5K run

Earth Day Tips and Tricks
Saturday, April 23, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Sarett Nature Center, 2300 N Benton Center Road.The free, 45-min event will deliver conservation tips and tricks.
Grand Rapids
Earth Fair Expo
Hosted by West Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative, April 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Montague High School, 4900 Stanton Blvd.
Earth Day Celebration
John Ball Zoo, 1300 Fulton W, Grand Rapids, May 7, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Free with zoo admission.
Earth Day Mushroom Foray
