Two days after fans got a picture of Carrie Underwood in the studio, the superstar shared a head-to-toe, straight-on picture of her fronting her band.

The picture begs more questions than answers. Specifically, what the heck is she rehearsing for?

Underwood has just two dates on her touring calendar: a June 8 spot during CMA Fest and a headlining show on Aug. 2 at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn. As of now she's not a scheduled performer for the 2018 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, but there are still lineup announcements to come.

There's been no leak of a television performance in the near future and no official word on new music. So, what is the secretive country singer up to in this picture?

The photo is another that shows her full face after several posted to Instagram throughout the winter that kept her mouth and jaw out of view. Underwood suffered wrist and facial injuries that required several dozen stitches when she fell at her house in Nashville in November.

Only later would she reveal the extent of her injuries and talk about the emotional vulnerability that came with it all. Nothing in any photos she's shown us looks much different than pre-fall Carrie Underwood. Honestly, she looks like she's holding nothing back in this band rehearsal photo.

Underwood hinted that she has surprises in store for fans as it relates to the upcoming Nashville Predators playoff run. The heightened social media activity, the nature of her photos and that it's been over 18 months since she released a single to country radio, two-and-a-half years since her last studio album and well over a year since she toured all have most people believing she's hard at work on new music. It all could be timed to be announced as soon as the ACM Awards. Her next project would be her first on UMG Nashville after spending her entire post-American Idol career on Sony Music Nashville.
