Aldi now rivals Whole Foods as the healthiest grocery story in America.  Aldi is doing more than just banning pesticides to become a more healthy place to shop according to CheckOuttheHealthyWorld.com,

Aldi has removed partially hydrogenated oils, certified synthetic colors, and MSG from their private-label products, which make up 90% of sales.

They’ve expanded their sales of organic and fresh meat and produce, as well as the “Never Any!” brand of meats which doesn’t contain any added hormones, antibiotics, animal by-products or other additives.

Also, the chain of supermarkets will expand their gluten-free brand and the SimplyNature line, which is free of more than 125 artificial ingredients.

Most people would love to eat healthy, right? Perhaps the problem is they simply cannot afford to do so.  If Aldi is able to mix these healthy changes with their existing business plan that keeps the prices low on groceries, this may be a slam dunk success.

Aldi has location on Gull Rd and West Main in Kalamazoo, a newer store on S. Westnedge in Portage and Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek.
