The NHL is out for the upcoming Winter Olympics but that doesn't mean there will not be pros in South Korea.  The Men's Hockey team roster was recently announced and features 3 players from Michigan. 

According to USA Hockey, the Men's team for Team USA will feature 3 players who are from Michigan.

Jim Slater, Chad Billins and James Wisniewski.   Detroit Red Wings great Chris Chelios will be an assistant coach and former Red Wings assistant/current Wisconsin coach Tony Granato is the head coach.

Jim Slater is from Lapeer and played college hockey at Michigan State.  He spent time in the NHL playing for the Atlanta Thrashers/ Winnipeg Jets before moving on to play in Germany.

Chad Billins is from Marysville and played college hockey at Ferris State.  His pro career has taken him to Grand Rapids with the Griffins as well as with Abbotsford and Utica in the AHL.  He also spent some time in Calgary in the NHL before moving over to Russia and currently in Sweden.

James Wisniewski is from Canton and has spent time in the NHL with the Blackhawks, Ducks, Islanders, Canadiens, Blue Jackets and Hurricanes.   He has recently moved on to play in Russia and currently in Germany.

He is not from Michigan but goaltender Ryan Zapolski played for a brief time with the Kwings back in 2011-2012.

The team will be captained by former Buffalo Sabres Forward Brian Gionta and will begin play in South Korea on February 14th against Slovenia.
