WMU to Play Hockey at Soldier Field

The Hockey City Classic is February 2 and the Broncos will be there!

In 2008, the pros in the National Hockey League (NHL) decided to take hockey back to its roots: the outdoor rink. Many of the leagues top players grew up playing pond hockey during cold Winters, skating until dark when neighborhood Mothers began the shouts of "dinnertime" across snow-drifted backyards.  (It was important to get home before Mom had to use your middle name.)  The Winter Classic brought back some of that magic.

Now, the Western Michigan University Bronco hockey team will leave the home ice of Lawson Arena and head for the Windy City and the Hockey City Classic at Chicago's Soldier Field.

The game is February 7, ticket information is available here and special WMU travel packages can be purchased by Friday, Feb. 23.

Ticket prices start at just $19 and you can also watch the Michigan and Michigan State contest in addition to Western battling Miami of Ohio.
