After a winter full of snow and frigid temps Kalamazoo is ready for Spring.  We’re not waiting for the temperatures to rise.  Mother Nature isn’t the boss of us.

Here Are 5 Signs Winter In Kalamazoo Is Over

#5. Wearing shorts outside when it’s still only 40 degrees

Regardless of the weather outside we are breaking up with Winter.  This relationship is over.  We’re going to show off some leg and flirt with Spring.  Winter, stop texting me.

#4. Matt Giraud Sees his shadow.

Forget Punxsutawney Phil!  We have former American Idol contestant and Kalamazoo area resident Matt Giraud to sing us to an early Spring!

#3. Kayaks are everywhere.

#2. Oberon Day!

Oberon Day is a kind of a big deal in the Kalamazoo area.  Oberon Day-2018 is March 26th.  That means many people will be taking March 26th and March 27th off of work.

#1.  Look at your calendar.

One obvious sign that Winter is over can be found on your smartphone.  Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 is the first day of Spring.  Let the countdown begin.
