For the first time since the 2009 Buick Open last appeared in Grand Blanc, the PGA is coming to Michigan in 2019. For the first time ever in Detroit's city limits, the PGA Tour will be taking place in June, and the  Detroit Golf Club is expected to be hosting the event. Freep reports the announcement was made by the Detroit-based Quicken Loans and the PGA Tour in a news release yesterday.

In the news release, Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner said:

Professional golf belongs in Detroit. The Motor City – and the entire state of Michigan – have long served as a premier golf destination with some of the best courses in the country. We will be working with the PGA TOUR to make the Detroit stop one of the most exciting and engaging events on the professional golf calendar.

As the event draws nearer, we will have more info as to who we can expect to see next year!
