There was a sold out crowd in attendance at Joe Louis Arena Monday night to watch the Detroit Red Wings take on the Buffalo Sabres. They were also there to wish a very special Happy Birthday to Red Wings' great Gordie Howe, who will soon celebrate his 88th birthday.

The Detroit Red Wings have been blessed with young talent this season.  One of those players, Andreas Athanasiou scored a goal that is very similar to one he scored last year.

The Detroit Red Wings are schedule for one outdoor game this season which will be Saturday, February 27th In Denver.  According to Detroit Free Press, the Wings are the possible opponent for the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2017 Winter Classic.

The Kalamazoo Wings have announced the schedule of the Stanley Cup Tour of Kalamazoo.  The cup will be in town the week of February 1st for the 2016 CCM/ECHL Hockey Heritage Week.
