Shutting Down “The Shack”

Two of Kalamazoo's Radio Shack stores will be closing.

Things are not dandy at the former Tandy Corporation. Radio Shack has filed for bankruptcy and will close 1700 stores nationwide and 2 in Kalamazoo according to MLive.

At these prices, it's no wonder they are closing...

A longtime source for more then gold-tipped stereo cables, answering machines and remote control vehicles of all shapes and sizes, Radio Shack pioneered computers and mobile phones. How many of today's programmers got their start on a TRS-80? Did you know Bill Gates did?

The Radio Shack locations at 4520 Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo and 6650 S. Westnedge Ave. in Portage will be selling off inventory and closing in the near future.

The store at 5460 Gull Road in Kalamazoo will remain open in case the 80's call.
