Bobby Guy competes in the largest Winter Adventure Race in the country.

On the cool, crisp morning of February 6, 2016, 430 racers gathered at Camp Roger in Rockford, Michigan for the largest Winter Adventure Race in the country.

Returning racers and 195 newbies navigated the course with only a map and compass. We were faced with challenges along the way including snowshoeing, fatbiking, paintball target practice, the egg drop and a diabolical maze in the heart of the forest.

Unlike a typical race, competitors do not follow a designated route but chart their own course and try to get as many checkpoints as they can within the 3 hour time limit.

Without freezing to death.

This is the first of four events Michigan Adventure Race will host this year; I hope to see you in Ludington for the next one!
