Meijer is recalling a pair of its deli cheeses after the possibility of Listeria contamination was discovered.

The Grand Rapids based supermarket chain said in a press release Friday that Meijer Brand Colby Cheese and Colby Jack Cheese, purchased from Meijer stores between November 10 2016 and February 9, 2017, have the potential for contamination.

The CDC says that Listeria is a bacterium that can cause serious infections in those with weak immune systems, although healthy individuals shouldn’t see more than a few days of symptoms like high fever and nausea.

Meijer learned of the problem from MDS Foods, their supplier that provides the Meijer branded cheeses from Middlebury, Indiana based Deutsch Kase Haus.

The recall affects products sold over the deli counter in the past few months, with UPC codes 215927xxxxxx and 215938xxxxxx; the last 6 digits are based on the weight of the product purchased.

If you bought Colby or Colby Jack Cheese over the deli counter at Meijer in the past few months, throw it away or return it to the store for a full refund.
