I go to a lot of concerts. I love the experience of seeing a great band play live. That palpable feeling of a band or an artist feeding off the energy of the crowd and giving it back.

It turns out I''m getting a lot more than I'm giving, even if I lose my voice singing along. An Australian study has proven that live music leads to a happier life.

There's a lot of science involved, they use phrases like: "Given that the domains above are inter-related, these findings were confirmed using multivariate analyses," but the bottom line is: The live music experience is good for personal well-being.

I'm always a little anxious if I don't have a concert on my calendar and am currently looking forward to the first week of October when I will see 3 live shows. (I'm smiling as I type this.)

So go ahead and spend that money on concert tickets- the front row may be better for you than your HMO.

I actually shot part of this video. I was in the front row and Joe handed me the camera. Look for me around 1:48.
